Clothes for people who believe in the untouched wild.
Moss & Matter isn't a brand you discover — it's one you recognize. When someone's wearing it, you already know something about them: they believe the wild should stay wild, and they live that in how they dress, how they move, and who they move with.

Western North Carolina
When did you last go somewhere that didn't need you?
That feeling — of being small, unhurried, and completely free — is what Moss & Matter is built around. The wild doesn't need us. And that's exactly why we keep going back.
Blue Ridge trail photoWestern North Carolina
Born on the trail
This idea was birthed from a hiking trip in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Somewhere between the fog lifting off the ridgeline and the sound of nothing but wind and footsteps, it became clear: the people out here have something in common that goes beyond the trail. A belief. A way of seeing the world.
We wanted to make something those people could wear every day — not to announce themselves, but to quietly belong to each other. Clothing that carries that belief from the mountain into the city, into the office, into ordinary Tuesday mornings.
"We don't believe sustainability is a feature. It's the foundation."
— Moss & Matter, founding principles
A quiet signal
No loud logos. No performance. Just honest clothing that people who believe in wild places recognize on sight.
Rooted in place
The Blue Ridge shaped this brand. The fog, the ridgelines, the people who keep coming back — all of it lives in what we make.
Worn into everything
Everyday wear for people with a particular way of seeing. The trailhead and the coffee shop are the same place to us.
The collection
Everyday wear for people who know.
Each piece is made to move through your whole life — not just the trail, not just the office. Simple, honest, and made from materials that reflect what you believe. When someone who gets it sees you, they'll know.
